USB device not recognized-Using Windows XP (sp3) - Microsoft Community

The camera is on, I don't have internal or external USB reader, The USB cable is a direct connection with the camera and the computer. I am running windows XP; I even tried it on a different laptop and end up with the same message-USB device not recognize
