SQL Server 2008 SP3 - Upgrade 2008 R2

There is no patch as SQL Server 2008 R2 is separate product all together. Although the name SQL Server 2008 R2 sounds like some patch over SQL Server 2008 but its not true. As Sam mentioned, you need to purchase the license and perform in-place upgrade.
