Repeater from 2 mobiles ? - Popular Wireless Magazine Personal Wireless BBS

Anyone have some specific knowledge of making a repeater out of two mobile radios? I am looking to do it with Midland, Maxon, Uniden or Johnson LMR radios specifically, since I have quite a stockpile of these radios. I understand some basic concepts, but
