MS SQL Server, SSL over 1433 - Database Team - Index page

Hi there, I'm looking at using SSL over TCP/IP port 1433 to connect to a database as the database server and client lie on opposite sides of a not so trusty network. There are a couple of questions I cant seem to get answered. Is this a viable idea ? What
