How to fix Windows XP registry error: "c:windows\system32\config\" missing or corrupted

Hey guys, I'm having problems booting up my lap top in my Windows XP OS. I tried the procedure in this site, and while I was able to burn the procedure from another computer in to a CD I cannot continue on my problematic lap top. I was stocked in Step 4:
