Getting Started - Welcome to Apache Pig!

The Pig tutorial shows you how to run Pig scripts using Pig's local mode and mapreduce mode (see Execution Modes). To get started, do the following preliminary tasks: Make sure the JAVA_HOME environment variable is set the root of your Java installation.
