End of Mainstream support for SQL Server 2005 SP1 and SQL Server 2000 SP4 - Microsoft SQL Server Rel

I understand that SQL Server 2005 SP2 end-of-maintstream-support has not been announced. Can Microsoft inform users on how long ahead of the actual end-of-maintstream-support date the announcement will be made?
