Cannot edit PowerPoint slide that contains an equation - Microsoft Community

Actually, I'm having the same problem and it has nothing to do with pptx. If you open a 2010 PP presentaiton in 2007 Powerpoitn, any slides with an equation convert the ENTIRE text box of the slide to an image. Its very frustrating.
