Cannot RDP to Windows 8.1 on Mac by Remote Desktop client app | Microsoft Surface tablet

I ran across the same issue with MAC OSX (Mavericks), Remote Desktop 2.0.0 and 2.1.0. I installed the latest version of Remote Desktop 8.0.0 from the Mac App Store and it worked perfectly. itunes.apple.com/us/app/microsoft-remote-desktop/id715768417
